FALLS CHURCH, VA, March 15, 2011 – recruitDC continues its series of events on April 28 at the USA Today/Gannett Headquarters to create a sense of community amongst recruiting professionals in the DC metro area. The conference aims to unite DC metro-based recruiters to collaborate, share best practices and further develop their careers.
recruitDC is a dynamic group of recruiting community professionals who have volunteered to create, implement and manage these events for the local recruiting community. The group of volunteers includes leading local recruiting professionals from Marriott, Mitre, Strayer, Staffing Advisors and includes ClearedJobs.Net’s CMO Kathleen Smith, all who have identified the need in this community for an event not only to bring together local talent and share best practices, but to lay the foundation to better connect the local recruiting community.
The recruiting community in Washington DC has not come together in such a concerted fashion for numerous years. According to Ben Gotkin, Director of Talent Acquisition for Marriott International and recruitDC co-founder. “There hasn’t really been a centralized presence in our area for local recruiters for many years. There are a number of small recruiting communities here in the metro region, but we don’t really have a united front. What we are looking to give rise to here and now is a metro-based professional community, bringing together all recruiting professionals operating in the vicinity of our nation’s capitol.”
In addition to bringing area recruiters together, the recruitDC event will also showcase some visible speakers in the recruiting and HR industry, including:
Recruiter Training and Development . What's a Recruiting Leader to do? -- Larry Clifton, Sr. VP, Recruiting and Workforce Planning, CACI
Over 250 metro-based recruiters are anticipated for this next recruitDC event. “Attendees will enjoy quality content and quality speakers,” says Gotkin. “recruitDC will be all about recruiting; showcasing the best of what the local recruiting community has to offer.”
ClearedJobs.Net is one of the four sponsors for the event. “Recruiters face many new challenges each day but rarely get time to get together, share best practices and take care of themselves," says Kathleen Smith, Chief Marketing Officer for ClearedJobs.Net. "This event will do all that and at a ‘budgets-are-tight’ price that anyone can afford.
Additional sponsors for the event include: Indeed, Jobs2Web, and TMP Government.
"We are also pleased to be part of building a stronger community within the DC area recruiting community," adds Smith. "Communities are the marketing tool of the future and we are excited to be part of the foundation of the recruiting community here in the Washington, DC area."
