ClearedJobs.Net newsletter for TAP/ACAP aiding military transition for clearance jobs

FALLS CHURCH, VA, Feb. 15, 2011 -- ClearedJobs.Net, a veteran-owned job site serving security cleared job seekers announces a new electronic newsletter to support Transition Assistance Program (TAP)/Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) staff members in their efforts to assist servicemembers military to civilian transition. The monthly newsletter will be sent to TAP/ACAP staff across the U.S. and include articles to aid staff in their efforts to educate transitioning military on a successful job search and making the most of the tools available for their transition.

“Military to civilian transition can be a difficult adjustment because you’re really talking about different cultures with different expectations and terminology,” relayed Kathleen Smith, Chief Marketing Officer for ClearedJobs.Net. “We want to provide informational tools and support to the TAP/ACAP staff to augment the limited budgets and assets they are provided for this critical task of supporting our transitioning military.”

ClearedJobs.Net has a robust outreach to the military which includes online and offline contact with personnel transitioning from the military. ClearedJobs.Net has frequently been asked to present to TAP classes as well as “train the trainers courses” for many of the military districts. To extend its reach and support of military personnel and their families, ClearedJobs.Net set up Cleared Military, a series of social network channels on Twitter and Facebook to provide military specific information.

Realizing that social media now plays an important part of any career search, ClearedJobs.Net has unveiled “Social Media and Sandwiches”, a class to assist military job seekers transitioning into private industry on how they can use social media to find a security cleared job. This presentation is made to Washington, DC area TAP classes at Fort Meade, MD, Henderson Hall, VA and the Naval Academy, among others. The importance of security cleared job seekers using social media in their job search has also been presented to many other military groups including MOAA BANG, Naval District of Washington and Wounded Warrior conferences.

Follow our Cleared Military transition support channels both on Twitter (@ClearedMilitary) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/ClearedMilitary). Additional ClearedJobs.net resources for transitioning military can be found on SlideshareYouTube and our blog, Inside the Net.
