2014 inaugural event considered huge success for local cyber community

Falls Church, VA. (Oct.  18, 2015) – There were many highlights from the CyberMaryland conference in 2014 but one of the most popular was the job fair, based upon the number of major companies already signed up to participate in the 2015 Cyber Job Fair produced by ClearedJobs.Net.

“The market for talented cybersecurity professionals, particularly in the government contracting community, has never been higher,” said Kathleen Smith of “Companies love the job fair because of the pool of qualified individuals they see. We at find the job fair to be especially worthwhile because it provides transitioning military veterans with an outstanding job search opportunity.” The 2015 Cyber Job Fair will be held the first day of the CyberMaryland conference produced by the Federal Business Council.

What makes this job fair unique from others is the event is open to cleared and non-cleared cybersecurity professionals as well as students in college-level cyber degree programs. Registration for the Cyber Job Fair is free for all cyber job seekers, and includes resume reviews with an HR professional.

The largest source of new cybersecurity talent in Maryland is the transitioning veteran pool and Maryland employers are creating opportunities in the areas of defense contractors, government agencies, tech companies and more. The goals of the 2015 Cyber Job Fair are to increase job opportunities for veterans and keep jobs and talent in the region.

Why are events like CyberMaryland 2015 so important? Cyber hacking is estimated to cost over 100 billion dollars a year worldwide and locally US citizens are affected every day when their identities and bank information is compromised.

Now in its fifth year, CyberMaryland is the pre-eminent cybersecurity conference in the nation’s leading cybersecurity state. The Cyber Job Fair will be open 11am - 3pm on October 28th and will feature nearly 30 participating cybersecurity employers including JPMorgan Chase, NSA, and Northrop Grumman.

Due to the high demand for cyber hiring events, in 2016 ClearedJobs.Net will again present Cyber Job Fairs in conjunction with several Federal Business Council cybersecurity events, including CyberMaryland and CyberTexas.
