Windows System / Oracle Database Administrator

Raytheon IIS/GIS provides Operations and Maintenance support for the Intelligence Community

Raytheon is currently seeking a Database Administrator providing key Oracle Database administration that will enhance engineering support to maintain high priority operational systems at a high level of availability, and resolve problems based on mission criticality and guidance.This position is an 8x5 position (with after-hours call-in responsibility).

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Provide support for Oracle Database administration up to and including the following areas; backup and recovery, data security and general database administration activity.

Performs routine and preventative Oracle maintenance and resolve outages, or problems encountered during normal operations which includes the collections of diagnostic data, restoring the system to operations, development of workarounds, and other activities necessary for a full system recovery.

Accurately document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools and
support of Tier III maintenance provider DR investigation and resolution.
Perform system monitoring, analyze and document performance and conduct trend analyses as required to act proactively.

Environment fluctuates between development, routine and urgent, maintenance depending on ongoing tasks, priorities, and performance of assigned systems.
Works directly and indirectly with our customers in most aspects of the day-to-day activities.
This position requires a BS Degree and minimum 6 years experience or 14 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.

Required Skills:
  • Oracle Database Administration
  • Skilled Technical Advisor and experience mentoring and coaching more junior staff.
  • Security+ Certification
  • Storage, Archival, Backups and Database best practices.

· Must have a current DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level II (minimum) Certification.
· A minimum 4+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration working with customers in technical operations or engineering.
· Strong background and experience troubleshooting and debugging.

· Experience presenting technical information to customers, clients and/or internal audiences.

· A thorough understanding of operating system concepts such as swapping and paging, inter-process communication, and devices and device drivers.

· The ability to work effectively with frequent and direct customer interaction in a real-time operational environment.

· The ability to work under pressure in restoring high priority systems back to operations.

· Working at a customer facility and with the customer daily requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task efforts based on a dynamic environment and changing priorities.
  • Experience providing technical assessment and recommendation which may lead to decommissioning or upgrading existing infrastructure.
  • Disciplined knowledge regarding technical task coordination which may include planning and developing task plans to coordinate joint departmental efforts.

Desired Skills:
·Linux or Solaris administration – Intermediate Level skills

· Experience managing development projects and providing technical leadership to team members

· Ability to navigate, debug, and modify programs in various scripting language.

· Ability to write PERL, python, power shell scripts.

· Administrative experience with Windows Server 2008+, VMware ESXi, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI),Horizon or XENDesktop, Thin Client environment, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) compliance, application support, end user support, network support, backups, baseline OS development and SQL experience

· Intermediate experience configuring domain information utilities, such as Active Directory, Centrify, LDAP, and/or DNS.

Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship and must have a TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph.
