Description
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated self-starter for the position of IT Windows System Administrator. This hands on position provides PC, server and equipment integration services for engineering groups in a fast paced, fast response environment with a strong teaming and product delivery mindset.
The role will include PC and server configuration as well as networking integration for equipment and computing needs, maintenance activities and equipment lifecycle management.
As part of the support team, this individual will need to have the following:
• Windows OS Desktop/Server administration experience with a background in
IT support, and familiarity with other IT technologies
• Understanding of cyber security policies and directives
• Ability to implement controls on computing equipment in the
unclassified/classified environments and other duties as assigned
• The individual will be the point person for assisting with IT needs related to
training and communication technologies
• A strong customer focus is essential
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 4 additional years of
experience in lieu of degree
• Two plus years of Windows server experience with installation, configuration
and maintaining Windows 2008, 2012 and 2016 Server Operating Systems on
a variety of physical and virtual hardware and PowerShell scripting
• Ability to schedule performance of server maintenance actions during non-duty
hours
• Strong customer service skills along with excellent verbal, written and
documentation skills
• Demonstrated experience applying technical acumen and domain knowledge
to facilitate the resolution of business, operational, technical and process
challenges
• Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, relatively unstructured
environment, working on tight deadlines and highly motivated to drive activities
to completion.
• This job will require lifting of up to 50 lbs. Equipment lifting devices are
available for heavier components
• A DOE Q level security clearance is required to start
• Must be able to maintain a DOE Q level security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Citrix PVS and VMware vSphere
• Installation of Adobe family of products and Subversion version control
• Experience or familiarity with Nessus and Splunk
• Evaluate systems and ensure security requirements are met
• Proactively address network, storage or system performance issues
• Service Desk experience is a plus
