We are seeking a passionate Web Developer. In this position, you will research, design and develop computer software systems used for geospatial and temporal data analysis.  The process of software development in this position adheres to the Agile process, and includes planning and estimation of task complexity, development of new capabilities and bug fixes, and demonstrations of completed capabilities.  Software development occurs using modern web technologies, including JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Cesium, and OpenLayers, among other technologies, with the candidate producing high-quality code.  Code quality is measured by automated processes and human review, and no code is accepted into the baseline without passing these checkpoints.

Success for newly developed capabilities is measured in part using unit, functional and regression testing strategies.  Upon completion, all software changes will be submitted for review by at least one other team member, and individuals are responsible for reviewing submitted changes from other members of the team. In addition to new capabilities, candidates for this position participate in the maintenance of deployed capabilities, aiding support personnel in diagnosing, proposing, and implementing fixes to reported problems. Maintaining software requires occasional contact with end users, as part of a coordinated support strategy.

  • Perform in all phases of the application lifecycle to include systems engineering and requirement analysis, technical design, system integration, implementation, and deployment.

  • Use industry proven design patterns and open source tools is encouraged, along with a dedication to staying educated on current technology trends.

  • Provide software design and development expertise in support of both new application development tasks and maintenance.

  • You will be part of an Agile team where communication skills and the ability to execute within the established development process are paramount to yours and the team’s success.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:


  • Typically has a Bachelor’s degree or Associates/Vocational/Technical education


  • A  minimum of 1 years of related full-time work experience.

Required Skills:

  • Completion of a selected codility experience.

  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN and MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A Top Secret/SCI clearance level.

  • JavaScript skills, including use of Angular, Bootstrap, Cesium, OpenLayers, etc.

  • Understanding of Linux and / or Windows environments

  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development process and methodologies

  • Experience designing User Interfaces and User Experiences (UI / UX)

  • Familiarity with GIT source control

  • Technical acumen and be highly self-directed and motivated.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • OpenGL / WebGL development experience

  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS / WFS standards

  • Continuous Integration and Automated Testing tools like Jenkins / Hudson, Selenium, JUnit, etc.

  • Experience with build automation tools, including NPM, Nexus, and / or Archiva

  • Experience with ticketing and Agile process management tools (e.g.: JIRA)

  • Experience with UI / UX design through Balsamiq or similar applications
