Web Developer

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is seeking a Web Developer to support efforts with CDC’s Informatics Innovation Unit.  The Informatics Innovation Unit (IIU) advances the field of public health informatics through applied research and innovation. IIU studies, prototypes, and tests new and innovative technology-based tools and resources to maximize their effect on public health. IIU’s resources are available to both CDC and its partners in the public health community. IIU engages in applied new research and development projects that support innovative public health uses of information technology. To do so, IIU provides information, consultation, and support for new informatics solutions for public health practice; rapidly creates prototype tools and solutions to facilitate the testing of hypotheses; and provides an optimal, flexible, and scalable environment for rapidly developing prototype public health informatics solutions for testing and evaluation.

More About the Role:

  • Develop web applications.
  • Design, develop, demonstrate and test prototypes - applications and tools.
  • Contribute in the development and maintenance of IIU web sites
  • Interact with clients and business partners to develop interfaces and prototypes.
  • Provide weekly status/progress reports.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Requires 5 years of experience as a web developer with a minimum of 3 years as a full stack developer.
  • Must be able to obtain a NACI clearance
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of React
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Webpack
  • Intermediate to expert JavaScript/jQuery skills.
  • Experience with creating functional and non-functional prototypes.
  • Create workflows, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Apply User Interface design best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of UI and interactive design skills.
  • Able to present designs to both technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrates creative, technical and analytical skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work.
  • Strong knowledge of user interface design and usability, in addition to a strong knowledge of color, layout, design principles, and typography.
  • Design user stories, user journeys, etc.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of mobile (Responsive Design) web techniques
  • Experience with iOS development.
