The Exercise & Wargame Intermediate Analyst is capable of leading and executing analytical tasks, using both analytical techniques and processes for complex developmental and operational programs. The Intermediate Analyst will assist MDA in incorporating all available missile defense capabilities into integrated theater missile defense of US Combatant Commands, specifically the US Indo-Pacific Command. Position requires approximately 90 days/year of international travel to the Pacific theater. Project (or Opportunity) Support: Support MDA’s Exercise & Wargames office.Responsibilities

  • Provides programmatic and technical support to MDA’s Exercise & Wargames office in support of US Indo-Pacific Command BMD exercises and planning events
  • Assists with MDA interoperability testing for Joint Chiefs of Staff J7 Joint Live, Virtual and Constructive simulation certifications
  • Advises event participants on M&S capabilities and limitations in comparison to real defense systems behaviors
  • Manages MDA operating locations in the US and OCONUS locations during test, integration and event execution
  • Reviews Cybersecurity plans for exercises
  • Participates in working groups, peer reviews, and other technical meetings
  • Travel Required: Approximately 8-10 trips/year, 7-30-day durations, 90 days/year

Experience Requirements

  • BS degree and 5+ years of related professional experience and
    relevant experience working in BMD planning, development, test, operations, or modeling & simulation
  • Knowledge of US Homeland and Theater BMD capabilities. Understands the C2 that integrates US and non-US BMD assets into a BMD theater capability
  • Understands kill chain tasks and behaviors of BMD surveillance and acquisition radars, and interceptors and the integration of lower and upper tier defense systems
  • Able to derive BMD M&S requirements for United States Combatant Command sponsored exercises, wargames, and experiments. Recommends to MDA most cost-effective M&S architecture to satisfy training audience objectives
  • Understands United States European, Pacific and Central Commands BMD issues/ concerns and their impact to US Homeland Defense
  • Self-motivated; possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Secret ClearanceDesired Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in budget forecasts and cost estimating for exercise support
  • Capable of leading the development and use of analytic tool, techniques, and processes
  • Capable of working independently or leading teams to solve problems
