VTC Engineer

The VTC Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the organization's video conferencing infrastructure, video conference endpoints, application configurations and associated video collaboration applications. The VTC Engineer is also responsible for providing backup to the VTC Technicians to ensure delivery of world-class video meetings.  The selected candidate will lead engineering for a variety of Audio Visual (AV) / Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, networks and equipment, including subject matter expert (SME) level support in the areas of AV/VTC system design, configuration, programming, installation, troubleshooting, testing and best practices. Serves as a technical reference for government customers and sponsors, as well as other AV/VTC engineers operating an AV/VTC Help Desk. Performs technical surveys to support AV/VTC integration projects. Troubleshoots configuration and code related issues with AV/VTC systems. Develops detailed AV/VTC system design drawings using Visio or other technical drawing applications.  Completes RMF for accreditation of new VTC systems for customer.

 

- Comprehensive knowledge of network topology; along with VTC network hardware and software tools (Cisco).

- Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the VTC environment (Cisco).

- Ensure compliance with VTC network security policies and procedures. Follows the Standard Technical Implementation Guidelines.

- Analyzing new and changed system requirements, system designs, and refining technical solutions to ensure continuity between IT infrastructure design and installation.

- Developing, applying, and documenting device configurations.

- AV/VTC system design and installation experience for conference rooms and large network operations centers.

- Knowledge of Crestron/AMX/Extron products and technology solutions

- Crestron/AMX/Extron control system programming experience

- BiAmp/ClearOne DSP programming and troubleshooting experience

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Provide for training and indoctrination documentation of new systems for users following system integration

Education

BA/BS

Qualifications

20+ years of experience 

 

Able to pass TESA

CCNP-UC required, CCIE-UC preferred

Knowledge of Cisco CMS

Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

Current IAT II 8570 at time of hire
