Video Teleconference Technician (Active TS SCI with Polygraph)

Jacobs is currently seeking a Video Teleconference Technician with an Active TS SCI with Polygraph clearance to join their team in the Bethesda, Maryland area.

The candidate will provide Tier 1 and 2 Audio Video s (A/V) Support. The candidate will serve as the Tier 1-2 A/V technician, reporting to the A/V Support Team Leader. The candidate will be the member of the technical support staff performing special event setup, TV grid support, auditorium support, and tier 1/2 troubleshooting support for a wide array of A/V equipment.
Support the operations and maintenance of all A/V and VTC equipment.
Perform tier 1 and tier 2 troubleshooting as needed to determine equipment faults and optimization.
Instruct non-technical users in the operation of the VTC user control panel and all other end user VTC equipment. This includes senior Staff and VIP personnel.
Provide audio/video support for a large auditorium and special events.
Performs preventative maintenance on all A/V and VTC equipment.
Provide recommendations to management on improved equipment reliability.
Acts as the primary point of contact for auditorium operations.

Active TS SCI with Polygraph Clearance

Two (2) years of college in a computer field and five (5) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience for a total of seven (7) years. Progressive relevant training and/or certification in appropriate discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of the education or experience requirement.

5-7 years’ experience supporting A/V and VTC equipment.
Must be able to life 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable climbing a ladder and working at 25ft or more.
Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a company vehicle.

Desired Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Must possess excellent problem solving skills to troubleshoot complex VTC problems
Experience with auditorium operations.
Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimal supervision.
Professional oral and written presentation skills.
Experience with auditorium operations.
Professional appearance is a must.
Polycom VTC and CISCO/Tandberg VTC experience.
Attention to detail.

Essential Functions


GeneralOffice environment. The work environmentis fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature ofthe work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other membersof the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Physical Requirements

Mostwork will be done at a desk or computer.

Equipment and Machines

Generaloffice equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers,Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Attendanceis critical at all times. Needs to be available to work overtime duringcritical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtimeshould the situation occur.
