Summary:
The UXDesigner isresponsible for providing the Government Product Manager a clear understandingof user needs, user experience interviews, and support creating the look andfeel of the application.
Duties andResponsibilities:
- Performuser-centered approach in the application design development
- Adviseon product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterativefeedback loops
- ImplementLean UX principles in defining minimum viable products (MVP) for prototypingand testing
- Implementiterative development and delivery
- Pairwith a Pivotal Labs SW Designer and other members of the team (contractor andgovernment)
- DevelopSoftware (SW) application briefing presentations
- Supportthe Discovery and Framing process and follow-on user interviews
- Continuouslylearn user trends and behaviors as part of each design cycle.
- Otherduties as assigned
MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)
- Bachelor’sDegree or higher required and in experience design, industrial design, HCI, orrelated field OR 3 years of relevant work experience in UX, product design,and/or enterprise application fields
- 2years of relevant work experience in UX, product design and/or enterpriseapplication fields or relevant customer-facing job role
- Experienceincludes User Centered Design (UCD) methods
- Experienceworking with HTML/CSS and Browser Developer Tools
- Experiencein the design and/or development of full-service applications
- Experiencewith front-end Java Script development a plus
- Experienceworking in a rapid and iterative development environment
- Experiencecreating flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and visual comps, with a strongportfolio that demonstrates this
- Experienceusing Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and InVision
- Experiencewith the design and product development processes
- Experiencewith early-stage design, ideation techniques, and research methods
- Excellentmanagement, communication, and presentation skills
- Experiencecollaborating with a team of programmers with varying skillsets
- Experiencewith agile and lean philosophies
- TopSecret clearance required with eligibility to obtain SCI a plus
Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:
- Solidunderstanding of user-centered design, visual design, and usability bestpractices
- Abilityto build wireframes and mockups
- Abilityto work individually and within a team and assist teammates to achieve teamcommitments
- Abilityto discuss, present and defend designs and design decisions withcross-functional and non-technical audiences
- Mustbe able to travel up to 25% (travel may be required for this position).
- Abilityto communicate clearly and effectively
- Detail-orientedwith strong organizational skills
- Abilityto multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline-driven environment

- The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
- During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
