UNIX and Linux Vulnerability Analyst, Mid

Key Role:

Work independently to support the validation, assessment, and accreditation processes necessary to ensure that IT systems meet the organization’s information assurance (IA) and security requirements. Assist in defining organizations’ required state and risk thresholds and analyze actual state information to assess compliance. Present results and recommendations to clients, including senior leaders. Serves as a UNIX and Linux technical specialist for assets connected to isolated environments and Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) and Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) to support Cybersecurity and IT services. Review, identify, and report problems with the installation and operations of UNIX and LINIX platforms, including system options, software used and not used, default security controls that are enabled, disabled, or bypassed, and system-wide options and parameters that may create security vulnerabilities. Determine the impact and risk of submitted change requests prior to implementation, providing Cyber oversight for database changes that affect the level of risk.

Basic Qualifications:

-2+ years of experience with UNIX, including HP- UX, Solaris or AIX or Linux RedHat and Cybersecurity

-3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite

-Experience with identifying, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting UNIX, including HP- UX, Solaris or AIX or Linux RedHat vulnerabilities and recommending security countermeasures to mitigate identified database risks

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

-DoD 8570 IAM I level Certification

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD, STIGS, RMF, and DIACAP

-Ability to analyze results and present complex technical concepts to senior clients

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-BA or BS degree in Cybersecurity
