University Programs: Systems Engineer I

The Test Automation Department (TAD) is responsible for the design and development of test equipment hardware and software to support a wide range of products and customers.


The Production Test Development Engineer will be responsible for development of software and hardware configuration items compatible with the Presidio ITAS Production Test System so as to be deployed to the SAS Largo Florida or Forrest Mississippi Consolidated Manufacturing Center. These configuration items include production test software, test equipment hardware, and hardware test adapters/modules. The dominant effort will be on the software side. The production test development engineer will be responsible for the configuration item design and verification, with support to new product introduction, corporate council support, bid/technical review, and continuous improvement for this system. The production test development engineer will report directly to the Section Manager and interact with functional management personnel.

The candidate will be expected to follow established procedures and instructions (IPDS and the One-page processes) while working closely with program and functional supervision to ensure the overall design objectives are met. Candidate must be able to support cradle to grave efforts including proposal generation, conceptual modeling, requirements, detailed design, integration, and verification activities.

Required Skills:

  • 0-2 years of electrical engineering development including circuit design, analysis, test hardware and software knowledge
  • 0-2 years of test software development with emphasis in automated test systems
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite
  • Ability to obtain a DoD issued Secret Clearance within first year of start date
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Required Education:
Must have a BS / BA with a major in Electrical Engineering or other related field by Summer 2020 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
