As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. The selected candidate will be required to secure these accesses. Not being able to secure the Interim Secret Security Clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.

Job Description:
The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) designs and develops electronics and test equipment for RF, EW, Comms and EO sensors. The Center provides engineering, technology development, and manufacturing support for an extensive line of airborne, ground, and space-based systems.

As a Mechanical Engineer II, you may be involved with some of the following activities:

  • Reviewing material and components specifications for process improvement; Perform failure analysis and testing on components and materials.
  • Conduct modeling and analysis on fixtures and structures. The analysis tasks may include evaluating RF or EO/IR hardware designs for static and dynamic strength, fatigue, durability, stiffness, thermo-elastic behavior, and other system and sub-system level performance metrics.
  • Conduct Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance analysis on drawings; Develop drawings and documentation packages for mechanical, electro-mechanical and/or optical-mechanical assemblies. Identify process and design improvements to lower costs and cycle times; Support design and development efforts.

You will learn frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. You will be expected to provide recommendations to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. You should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
