UI/UX Developer (Mid)

Position Description

The User Interface (UI) /User Experience (UX) Developer provides Web design and front end development support for the Portal team on the EPC contract. The successful candidate will also provide best practices User Experience (UX) analysis and User Interface (UI) design for various Enterprise Portal system releases, and will support design and development of a responsive website and mobile-ready Web 2.0 User Interfaces.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a full lifecycle of Responsive design: content-first design, information architecture, wireframes, Photoshop components and in-browser prototypes, to provide end-to-end dynamic, database driven design flows using Bootstrap
  • Constructs pages in HTML and CSS (with SASS), with coding around templating languages or within CMS systems.
  • Develop a complete standards-compliant high-performance front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using Angular or React
  • Writes tested, idiomatic, and documented JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to analyze, design, and ship new features, ensuring the front-end code can be effectively integrated with the technical solution in an Agile Software Development environment
  • Provide best practices of human factors and ergonomics, particularly in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment
  • Analyze available Enterprise Portal usage metrics for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX optimization
  • Individual is responsible for both UI/UX development and Angular/React development integrations, coordinating the workflow between the Graphic Designer, the HTML Coder, and UI/UX Developer
  • Individual is responsible for understanding the backend integrations and developing independently with-out dependencies to boost the parallel front end and backend end development. Cooperates with the back-end developer in the process of building the RESTful API
  • Works with external data sources and APIs

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3 years of design and development experience with User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) for dynamic, database or Bootstrap driven web sites and Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • 3 years of experience in web design and front end development using HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java Scripts and jQuery
  • Experience with Web 2.0 UI design and development using JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, Backbone.js, Angular.js, HTML5, CSS3, XSL, LESS, SASS and Sprite imaging
  • 1 year of experience with code management tools like Eclipse, Intellij, Visual Studio, WebStorm, Jenkins, GIT, JIRA
  • 1 year of experience incorporating reliable unit and end-to-end testing to UI frameworks such as Jasmine, Minification, and Karma
  • Experience troubleshooting and possess debugging skills with UI related issues
  • Working knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices
  • Working knowledge of 508 compliance and accessibility
  • Experience with developing themes and skins

Desired Education and Experience

  • US citizen or a Green Card holder
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, especially the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Experienced with integrating with REST APIs and developing Single Page Applications
  • Experience with the development of micro services for Portal environment, coding/debugging Angular and integrating with back-end REST/Micro services
  • Working knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices
  • Experience with Node.js, less/grunt, Angular6 or above
  • Experience working with Agile software development methodology
