Training Analyst - Instructor


Job Description:

The customer is interested in IT Modernization efforts and Change Management/Training. This effort will involve training and facilitating changes for employees impacted by IT modernization efforts, evolve workforce to 21st Century skillsets and work practices, and enable the workforce to drive successful IT Modernization efforts going forward utilizing in-house talent.


The Training Analyst Instructor provides classroom and individual user training on various applications; trains staff on emerging technologies; may develop curriculum and instructional design, including development of teaching aids (training manuals, multimedia visual aids, computer-based training and reference materials).  Develops, directs, plans and evaluates training programs or activities to meet customer objectives.  Assignments may include needs analysis, custom course development, development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of course objectives, and evaluation and learning assessments. Collaborates with customer develop, enhance, and/or evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content.  May create course content, training materials, visual aids and documentation to support a variety of instructional formats such as lecture, lab exercises, field training, computer-based training (CBT), and/or web-based training (WBT).  May develop exam materials and may be responsible for testing and qualitative evaluation of participant's attainment of learning objectives.  Monitors and evaluates training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed.  Trainers may also administer training programs to meet student needs, which may require post-training follow up to determine applicability of course material or training approaches.   Complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Responsible for analyzing user business problems to be solved with automated systems. May formulate and define information system scope and objectives through research, analysis, testing and fact finding with a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements. May prepare communications and make presentations on recommendations on system enhancements or alternatives. May act as functional expert.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four (4) years of relevant experience.


Required Skills:

  • Ability to work with a team or individually without close supervision

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office software applications

  • Experience with curriculum design/development and learning solutions

  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation.

  • Experience in analysis and evaluation of learning content


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Agile ISD development

  • Knowledge and understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy

  • Experience with the ADDIE Instructional Systems Design model

  • Experience developing design documents for a variety of learning content types

  • Experience leveraging new technologies or approaches to increase learner engagement

  • Ability to increase learner engagement through the creation of appropriate interactions, activities, and exercises

  • Ability to demonstrate application of cognitive science and human factors that apply to the design of virtual training


Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
