TheTest Engineer is a member of theproject systems and software agile development team. TheTest Engineer work closely withother project team members and represent the test group in project meetings.

Duties andResponsibilities:

  • Executeactivities associated with testing and evaluating AFSEC software systems andprovide input for supporting documentation including but not limited to:
    • Data collectiontools
    • Analysis tools
    • Data interfaces
    • Databases
    • Data repositories
    • Systemrequirements specifications
    • Database designdescriptions.
  • Execute,document, and maintain pre-release and post-release test and functionalitychecklists, associated with every scheduled and unscheduled system release.
  • Establishmethods and techniques, plan tests, develop test requirements, write Integration& Test (I&T) procedures and reports, and conduct tests events
  • Planand perform I&T assignments involving definition of test and verificationrequirements, I&T plans and sequences
  • Validateand test Matrix deployment
  • Validateand test Release Candidate prior to deployment
  • Performvalidation and verification of deployment
  • Plan/coordinateto send out messages to the needed party
  • Generateinputs to Lessons Learned to discuss in sprint retro meeting.
  • Attendtechnical interchange meetings with the team members and other programpersonnel and represents the organization in matters pertaining to thedevelopment of his/her projects
  • Providea monthly status report identifying key activities and deliverables producedduring the reporting month and activities planned in the future month
  • Workclosely with our Solutions and Software Engineers to develop and execute robusttesting strategies against new and existing applications
  • Authorand execute of test cases as well as performing the development and maintenanceof automated test scripts.
  • Authortest plans and test reports
  • SupportUnit, Integration, Regression, and System Testing
  • Contributeto improve customer support by actively responding to queries and handle issues.
  • Followup with customers to identify areas of improvement on periodic basis.
  • Reviewincidents and escalations for timeliness and quality and take corrective actionwhere appropriate.
  • Otherduties as assigned

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • BA/BS in in a technical discipline strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience supporting test events for software applications and web application
  • 5+ years of military experience in Navy Safety and Occupational Health field preferred, but not required
  • Experience developing test cases based on both system requirements and concepts of operations
  • Experience with creating accounts, distribution list and troubleshooting user permissions in Exchange/ Active Director.
  • Knowledge of Agile-Scrum required
  • Secret Clearance required

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managingmultiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contractingenvironment
  • Demonstrated abilityto effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and externalstakeholder groups and individuals
  • Preferred knowledge of software application development and automated testing frameworks
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
