Job Title:  Technical Trainer


Location:  Washington, DC (100% US Travel)



ALEX - Alternative Experts is now hiring 6+ skilled Technical Trainers for an opportunity that involves travel to various training sites across the US for approximately 2 weeks at each location.  The selected candidates will be responsible for providing in-person software training for government employees.  Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing project documents, training materials, policies, and standards of conduct and behavior
  • Collaborating with training staff to deliver technical training sessions
  • Visiting various training sites to implement technical training
  • Instructing trainers and cofacilitating on-site training sessions
  • Following principles of hands-on experiential learning in designing technical training
  • Using agency adopted design and presentation formats throughout the project
  • Developing working relationships with training & travel staff as well as agency staff at training locations
  • Collecting and recording recommended improvements to training sessions and audio-visual resources
  • Developing and submitting periodic reports in a timely manner
  • Submitting technical training reports and documenting all lessons and activities for use in the future
  • Contributing to deployment, setup, configuration, and operation of training equipment
  • Following policies, procedures, and guidelines for professional trainer behavior



  • Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust  or Secret level security clearance
  • 5 or more years of experience designing and facilitating IT training sessions
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook)



  • Experience supporting federal or state court systems



  • Bachelor’s or higher in Communications Technology, Adult Learning, Business, Computer Science, or Instructional Design, OR equivalent work experience
