Technical Project Manager

SAIC is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Project Manager with a Systems Engineering background to join our team at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, providing unparalleled support to our customer and in an exciting and rewarding career.  This position provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Nuclear Technologies Department, developing state-of-the-art integrated, cloud-ready, cross-cutting platforms, applications, and data analysis AI-enhanced capabilities to support the full spectrum of nuclear modeling and simulation tools, war gaming, and assessments. 

The successful candidate will employ a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across a portfolio of projects focused on scalable, highly available application solutions.  Assists the Government in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.  Responsibilities include researching new requirements, conducting market research, and translating technology areas and concepts to share best-practice knowledge and improve internal processes across the organization.   Provides advice and facilitates government acquisition actions, including statement of work development, proposal evaluation, budget planning and execution, and monitoring contractor performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of experience or Master’s degree plus 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.

  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of Federal acquisition, program or project management.

  • Experience with DoD Command and Control Systems and Common Operational Picture is desired.

  • Experience with DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear sensor architecture is desired.

  • Level II or III Program Management Certification and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired. 

  • Ability to translate requirements and observations into clearly defined written products (briefings, reports, White Papers) in short timeframes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Travel is required (10%).
