Systems Safety Engineer

Provides senior level expertise in the review of all documents necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within systems or systems-of-systems for the United Kingdom AH-64 (Apache) aircraft and weapon systems.  Understands all the elements of system safety engineering and documentation to include hazard analyses, hazard categorization, end effects, causal analyses, mitigation requirements identification, tracking and implementing, and residual risk assessment.   Typical analyses to be reviewed are: functional analyses, hazard analyses, safety requirements analysis, hazard mitigation, safety risk assessments, reliability analyses, fault tree analyses, zonal analyses, and system residual risk assessments. Analysis based on MIL-STD-882, AR 385-10 and other industry standards.  Establishes system safety program objectives, requirements, schedules and recommends courses of action not meet the safety requirements needed to attain aircraft airworthiness.  Has an understanding of relationship of safety documentations and the role each plays in the process, and is able to complete technical reviews of safety documentation.  Able to train employees in safety processes and review of safety documentation.   Secret Security Clearance required.Qualifications:

Requires 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.   10 years' experience in system safety engineering  2 years of Army Aviation Project Office Experience    Apache knowledge as an engineer or pilot or maintainer  Able to work independently ; Written/oral communication skills    Willing/able to travel    Airworthiness Experience; Rotorcraft Experience    Secret Security Clearance
