Systems Operations Engineer 2

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer 2 to be a member of a Satellite Operations Engineering team located in Redondo Beach, CA responsible for factory expertise on engineering subsystems, system problem/anomaly resolution support, data trending and performance analyses based upon on-orbit data. The team also provides analysis to Program Management and AF customer and performs spacecraft commanding.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Provide technical briefings and training to local and on-site customers
- Development and improvement of operations processes/products working closely with senior operations and subsystem engineers
- Responsibilities include development of operational test procedures, detailed analysis of test results, and generation of test reports, as required
- Investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures/anomalies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2+ years of Satellite Operations Engineering experience OR
- Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
- Active DoD Secret clearance is required
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances and program specific accesses
- Must have experience providing technical briefings

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proficiency using MATLAB, STK and MS Office Products
- Demonstrated background in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: electrical/mechanical/aerospace/systems engineering
- Ability to analyze data to evaluate system performance and develop/maintain operational procedures and products
- Experience with troubleshooting and performing analysis on operational systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel Engineering functions
- Orbital Analysis
