Systems Integration & Testing Engineer

Responsibilities:

This position will serve as a member of the program Verification, Validation, and Transition (VV&T) team. The candidate will interact with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) to synthesize customer contractual needs, requirements, and technical, schedule and cost constraints into solutions for integrating, testing, evaluating, and transitioning systems into operations, delivering enterprise capabilities and integrating system and enterprise elements together so they work as a whole. The candidate must facilitate risk and action closure with Acquisition Offices and users, and support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and recommendation briefings. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement test and evaluation strategies, plans, and methods to assure reliability of systems and delivery of system specifications and defined enterprise capabilities;

  • Evaluate architecture, requirements, risks and opportunities, and processes for VV&T impacts;

  • Review and evaluate requirements for testability;

  • Define VV&T activities and generate associated VV&T products (e.g., test strategies, test plans, Requests for Change (RFCs), configuration diagrams, procedures, checklists, RVTMs, briefings, etc.) for new and modified mission capabilities;

  • Support the execution of those VV&T activities, assessing performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures;

  • Prepare reports describing the results as compared to requirement definitions, risk assessments, discrepancy reporting and lessons learned from those VV&T activities;

  • Compile data and define changes required in testing configurations, testing procedures, testing processes, or new testing requirements;

  • Coordinate system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities with other organizations, conducting readiness reviews for system integration, test, and transition activities;

  • Produce reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics, performing analysis and evaluations of systems under test;

  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures, perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive system evaluation reports and risk assessments;

  • Evaluate discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems and enterprise capabilities;

  • Provide direct, interfacing support to the customer, at the customer's operational sites, for system integration, test, evaluation, and transition activities; and,

  • Monitor for continual process improvement and lessons learned, reporting to management periodically

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-8 years professional experience in space/ground systems and systems engineering or test; or 3-5 years with MS/MA or 0-2 years with PhD

  • Experience writing test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results

  • Experience in system integration and transition approaches to accommodate the End to End GEOINT and/or SIGINT life-cycle

  • Due to the broad nature of the services workload, the chosen candidate should have technical knowledge of GEOINT and/or SIGINT, as well as overall space and ground architecture.

  • Ability to relate professionally inside the work environment

  • Proven communication

  • Highly-organized or Self-motivated

  • Proven adaptability and willingness to shift project work as needed to support team efforts

  • Commitment to recognize, understand, respect and operate effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority

  • Must have an active TS/SCI, the ability to pass a poly, and be able to successfully crossover with the supported client.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of the IC customer

  • MBSE process experience
