Systems Engineering Planner

SAIC the sole provider of the Remote Sensing Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA has an immediate need for a Strategic Planning Analyst.  This individual will work with the Remote Sensing (RS) SE&I Leads to coordinate and integrate all efforts into the Government’s Enterprise Master Schedule and One Voice Schedules for all Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS), Space Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM), and future acquisition efforts for the RS Enterprise.  This individual will be a Planning and Scheduling Analyst with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems.  Candidate will provide SE&I support to the SBIRS and SBEM Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS).  Candidate will support enterprise integration activities for SMC/RS space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements to identify and support the management of risks, issues, and interdependencies, identifying disconnects between integration products schedules, risks, contracts, etc.).  Candidate should have experience with space systems (especially at SMC), ground and space system acquisition, and systems engineering planning.  Major duties of the position include:
  • Ensure effective integration and planning across multiple space and ground programs, hardware and software, and all other aspects of systems and organizations within the Enterprise
  • Interact with prime contractors and government leads to ensure that all system activities are coordinated, scheduled and planned across the SMC/RS Enterprise
  • Support the customer in defining, capturing, and maintaining the technical, schedule, and cost risk data throughout the system lifecycle
  • Provide scheduling and planning support for all SMC/RS space, ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements to identify and support the management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions
  • Integrate activities over the lifecycle of systems within the Enterprise, including pre-contractual, development, and production, as well as operations and sustainment
  • Interface and collaborating with SE&I team members, prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, IT or Math
  • Current Top Secret Clearance
  • 9+ years of relevant experience with space and ground segments of DoD, and other Government space programs
  • Scheduling and planning experience with space, ground, operations, and sustainment segments of a DoD program
  • Experience with space systems, SBEM systems, OPIR systems, ground and space system acquisition, and systems engineering experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining MS Project schedules
  • Ability to think critically and synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans
