Systems Engineer Technical Specialist for UK assignment

Responsibilities:

The System Engineer will employ a combination of science, process, innovation and personal diplomacy to support the Operational region’s organizational elements in addressing and solving challenging problems that could benefit from SE methodologies and practices.

The System Engineer will prepare, coordinate, and maintain charters and standard operating procedures for forums/processes that support management business rhythms (enabling SE functions) and the SE process areas.

The System Engineer will provide technical input for strategic planning and participate in a site risk management program, configuration management program and metrics management program. The SE will work closely with the site CM POCs and support the site baseline process.

The System Engineer will need to apply the skills and competencies of a staff-level systems engineer to advise and support the customer in applying and executing proven industry Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to effectively and efficiently address site and Enterprise needs. The SE focus will be primarily on the right side of the SE V model addressing the integration of systems/capabilities developed elsewhere into the Site baseline, O&M of mission/systems, and decommissioning of obsolete systems. This individual should be familiar with resource and configuration management techniques (applied at Site against a facilities management / O&M paradigm addressing resources like power, space, cooling, etc). This individual should be familiar with and be able to provide advanced planning / scheduling support. This position requires excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to document and track progress against actions and decisions.

Qualifications:

Individual Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years with a related Masters, or 13 years with a related PhD degree.
  • Approve delivery of work products of multiple Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project
  • Ability to conceptualize and design Integrated Master Schedules and Plans (IMS/IMP).
  • Ability to work independently and on a team consisting of other contractor and government personnel.
  • Excellent communication skills at all management levels (both written and verbal).
  • Experience in preparing and presenting briefs for senior government program managers.
  • Ability to establish and execute Systems Engineering processes, particularly Baseline Configuration Management.
  • Ability to coordinate on-going activities with Hardware Planning, Installation and Integration, Civil Engineering and Systems Engineering groups in evaluation and approval of new mission system installations.
  • Experience developing and managing capability and mission requirements.
  • Position requires a TS/SCI w/Poly clearance.

  • Intelligence Community experience
  • Ability to think and execute “outside the box”, against the norm.
  • Experience with power, space and cooling planning and management
  • Experience with Architecture Baseline Definition
  • Understanding of Agile development methodology
  • Demonstrated understanding of cloud architecture, ingesting and processing.
