Systems Engineer (Sign-On Bonus Available!)

Job Description

As a Systems Engineer, you will provide end-to-end system lifecycle support for all systems within the PKI Services Branch.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Identifying system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal
  • Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Ensuring designs are compatible with the architecture and allocates requirements to segments
  • Responsible for all programmatics associated with the mobility project
  • Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Providing staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems
  • Testing, maintaining, and monitoring programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of programs and systems
  • Consulting with management to ensure agreement on system principles
  • Expanding or modifying system to serve new purposes or improve workflow
  • Analyzing and studying complex system requirements
  • Preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user­ level documentation
  • Applying business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles, as well as business process modernization projects

You will have experience with the following:

  • Must have an extensive background in PKI Technology, including Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP), Secure Hash Algorithm 1 & 2 (SHA1 & SHA2), HSMs, systems engineering, systems architecture, application deployment, Windows OS, and Linux OS
  • Demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Microsoft Server Installation and Configuration
    • Microsoft Certificate Authorities Installation, Configuration, and Deployment
    • Active Directory
    • Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)
    • PKI X.509 technology
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter to deliver projects, both independently and working within groups
  • Significant experience preparing PowerPoint presentations, engineering diagrams in Visio, and technical documentation (e.g. requirements and design) for complex systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to support on-call support and pager coverage

You will have one of the following:

  • 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
  • 10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
  • 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
  • 4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Hardware Security Module (HSM) Install, Configuration, and Deployment
  • ICD-503 Security Processes
  • CISSP certification
