Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals in ourOgden, Utah, or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma sites. The selected candidate will become a key part of our C-130 Avionics Modernization Program.
The selected candidate will work in within our Sustaining and Logistics Engineering and Technical Center. The Systems Engineer role includes technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability & effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of the system product. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into Logistics systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into Logistics and Sustainment solutions.
This position is contingent upon award and is expected to start in April of 2019.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs Task Analysis based on system drawings in CAD, NX, Solidworks, specifications, and other engineering technical dataincludes Northrop Grumman, Supplier, and Government furnished technical data.
  • Analyzes source data to create Support Equipment Requirements and develop source data for the use and maintenance of same.
  • Analyzes aircraft maintenance programs to determine effectiveness and creates written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Performs detailed review of technical documentation and drawings to develop provisioning information and data.
  • Performs detailed review and development of technical data to develop Reliability Centered Maintenance and Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis assessments of avionics systems and complete airframes
  • Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Processes logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Translates functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation & interface definition studies, and customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Works with multiple teams and cross-functional departments
  • Compiles reports, plans, and presentations for project leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
    • Master's degree in a STEM discipline
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in either Oklahoma City, Oklahoma or Ogden, Utah
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g. aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)
  • Experience in aviation maintenance, maintenance planning, manufacturing, or design
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Project, and Access
  • Knowledge of Military Specifications, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) and other related technical and contractual documents
  • Candidate must have an understanding of the either or both S-Series Standards/Mil-STD 1388 (defunct)
  • Experience with reading and understanding technical data (e.g., Technical Orders, Engineering Drawings, Parts Lists, Bills of Material, Engineering Specifications, etc.)
  • Candidate must have solid written and verbal skills in order to effectively interact with Government counterparts, other defense contractor organizations, and other cross-functional organizations
  • Experience in Logistics Engineering (Reliability / Maintainability / Sustainability)
  • Understanding and knowledge of Package, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) development
  • Identification and development of Support Equipment Requirements Document (SERD) for Comment and Peculiar support equipment development
  • Understanding of development of Provisioning documentation
