Systems Engineer – Advanced Concepts RF / EW

The Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Electronic Warfare (EW) Electronic Protect (EP) Systems Department requires an experienced Systems Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer with proven experience in developing innovative solutions that meet war-fighter needs to support the ACT mission area relating to Electronic Warfare research, development and capabilities demonstration.

This position will require the candidate to have familiarity with Electronic Warfare principles and Electronic Support concepts in support of technical development. The activities include any combination of concept demonstration, product design, technical documentation, unit or system test, or technical presentations. This position will require operating within a lab environment with peers and senior engineers resolving technical issues or implementing advance capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements analysis
  • Test case and test procedure development
  • Test procedure execution
  • Requirements verification
  • System validation
  • Supports preparation and maintenance of the verification traceability matrix

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 6 years in RF development/research and production for defense applications
  • Strong knowledge of RF/Microwave principles and system and subsystem-level analysis methodologies
  • Familiarity using RF/Microwave test equipment such as a Network Analyzer with calibration kits, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, RF Power Meter, Oscilloscope
  • Experience in EW/RF/Microwave Systems design and development
  • Experience with IV&V execution and test activities
  • Strong verbal communication skills with ability to present data and explain results to management and customers
  • Ability to work independently and share ideas collaboratively with a team
  • Prior leadership experience with cross product teams in a complex multiple stakeholder environment
  • Occasional business travel is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Experience interfacing, communicating and presenting to project and program management
  • Familiarity with Digital Design
  • Working knowledge of software/firmware development embedded on target hardware
  • Familiarity with requirements management tool such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
  • Experience in programming with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years



Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related Discipline
