Summary:

TheSystems Engineer will support theCS’s Collaborative Nerve Center (CNC) Engineering team in support of the U.S.Air Force. The Systems Engineer helpenable the collaboration and integration of multiple US Air Force programsthrough integrated engineering support services and a “nerve center” approach.This effort supports the Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence(C3I) Infrastructure Division Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program, aswell as other AFLCMC/HNI programs with similar missions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering services and multi-programsupportability through seam management and metrics analysis, which willstreamline and improve processes and increase cross-talk.
  • Deliver results in supporting a collaborative,flexible, and Agile workforce, co-located within a single work environment.
  • Support AF efforts with similar missions toincrease communication, improve program efficiency and effectiveness, helpeliminate duplication of effort, and ultimately improve user experience withthe capabilities being developed and sustained.
  • Supportthe delivery of innovative IT to the warfighter using the latest technologies.
  • Achieveindustry standards through improved integrated product teams (IPTs), whichinclude interdependent programs.
  • Ensureinformation superiority as a result of a culture that fosters improved qualitythrough enhanced communications.
  • Serve as a liaison with current and prospective program customers, industry and Air Force stakeholders.
  • Promote a self-organizing culture of versatilityand self-reliance that is product-focused to deliver faster businesscapabilities.
  • Support a collaborative, flexible, and Agileenvironment that breaks down communication and collaboration barriers toachieving required EITaaS capabilities.
  • Provide support to product support integrators(PSIs) in Data Analytics and Air Force Network (AFNET) data interpretation andreconciliation
  • Provide Seam Management to reach across multiplestove-piped processes and IT vendors to help to inform management andintegration decisions through coordination.
  • Ensure optimal business value, encourageinnovation, and promote consistent and seamless end-to-end services to AirForce customers. These coordination activities span the entire servicelifecycle, from inception to disposal.
  • Support the Sr. Systems Engineer and the SystemsEngineering/Seam Management team participating in a quarterly deep-dive ofvendors and lead a Seam Management working group in order to review and overseethe integration and coordination of existing vendors and the Government.
  • Identify integration and coordination issues,track resolution, and assist in developing strategies for transitioning to acontractor-owned, contractor-operated environment.
  • Contribute to various reports/deliverables including monthly program status reports to the appropriate customers and management personnel.

MinimumQualifications: (Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’sDegree and 3+ years of experience supporting a project of similar size andcomplexity
    • Combinationof additional experience, education, and training may be used in lieu of degree
  • Secret clearancerequired.

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:

  • Experiencewith Air Force Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) orrelated IT program support desired.
  • Backgroundin Systems Engineering and IT project management, desired
  • DoDD8570.01 compliant certification (Sec + Certification) desired
  • InformationTechnology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification desired
  • PMI Certified Agile Practitioner or Certified Scrum Master is aplus.
  • Well organized, aneffective communicator at multiple levels and able to grasp system concepts andcommunicate their applications.
  • Capable of quicklylearning new systems and associated software applications for proficientexecution of tasks.
  • Familiaritywith the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Ability to executemultiple projects with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contractmanufacturing environment.
  • Speak effectivelybefore groups of internal and/or external customers or employees.
  • Highlevel of integrity and accountability.
  • Abilityto travel.

  • The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
  • During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
