Systems Engineer I - IAMD Supply & Maintenance

The Systems Engineer I will be a part of the technical team supporting the IAMD Supply & Maintenance Engineering in the areas of Repair & Return (R&R), Depot Instructions, and Enhanced Repair Capability.

The Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is comprised of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

WLED core competencies include Safety Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability Engineering, Affordability Engineering, Risk and Opportunity Management, Logistics Engineering, Training, Technical Publications, Parts Availability/COTS Management, Parts and Materials Control Board (PMCB), Spares and Material Management, Repair & Upgrade, Depot/Field Engineering, Systems Integrity, Failure Reporting and corrective Action System (FRACAS), and Availability Engineering.

The Systems Engineer is responsible and accountable for successful technical, schedule, and cost performance for Life Cycle Sustainment work scope on assigned programs. The Systems Engineer will provide oversight to cross functional Sustainment activities with responsibilities including specialty/supportability engineering disciplines, hardware fielding, SICO, technical assistance, depot test equipment development and production, training, technical manuals, supply support, and refurbishment, upgrade. This position will work closely with the Patriot Product Line (PPL), Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management teams to apply disciplined program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution. The Systems will function as a program technical support engineer to the Patriot Sustainment scope and ensure IPDS utilization & compliance in support of program.

Required Skills:
  • 18 months of experience related to Repair & Return (R&R), Depot Instructions, and Enhanced Repair Capability.

Desired Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical writings, drawings and specifications
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to coordinate activities and respond to inquiries from the customer and engineering
  • Active US DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance within the first year
  • Raytheon R6Sigma Certification; otherwise must become R6Sigma certified within one (1) year
  • Experience reporting to internal and/or external Customers on project status and technical requirements

Required Education:

BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology. 8 years of relevant field experience may be considered in lieu of a BA/BS. (Two years related work experience can substitute for one year of college)
