Systems Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking Systems Engineers to support the Air Force’s next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill AFB, Utah. This will be a long term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075.


Specifically 
SAIC is seeking a highly qualified Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C) Systems Engineer with experience in the modeling and simulation of complex systems. Position requires the ability to work with and integrate within a small team of Guidance engineers as well as engineers from other missile systems, such as propulsion, system simulation and analysis, and reentry to assist in the development of a functional simulation of a strategic guidance system.  

Position also requires the ability to interpret the decomposition of an architecture into the simulation and ensuring the simulation is functionally representative of the design.

Is able to work in a dynamic environment, in concert with customers and contractors, in order to mature preliminary concepts to an eventual contractor provided final system evaluation

Ability to work with a wide array of stakeholders, including senior management, Air Force customers, contractors, technical staff and end users.



Qualifications

-  BS and 9+ years of experience, MS and 7+ years of experience, BS/MS degree in Engineering or comparable technical degree (Computer Science, mathematics, Physics, etc.).

- Analytical, design, and engineering skills. GN&C System design, analysis, modeling, and simulation.

- Evaluation of concept architectures and critical technological elements

- Prior experience in developing and running functional simulations written in C++ and/or Simulink.

- Experience with system architecture trades, system simulation, and detailed models to verify designs in advance of hardware builds

- Experience presenting results in peer-reviews and customer reviews

- Experience working in geographically diverse teams and classified computing environments.

- Experience mentoring junior guidance engineers.

- At least an active DoD Secret level clearance

Desired Qualifications

 

Strong experience in using analytical tools such as Matlab/Simulink, POST2. 

-Experience in C++, Java, Python or similar OOP languages

- Ability to understand and SysML highly desired.
