Systems Engineer

Job Description

Job Description: Primary Purpose:  Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities. Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers and senior executives.Duties and Responsibilities:Implement, troubleshoot and maintain IT systems Leads the support of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution Optimize system operations, resource utilization, performs system capacity analysis and planning Support the dispatch system, resolves hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process Configure and manage UNIX workstations and servers, UNIX operating systems, installs operating system software, troubleshoots, and configures network components while implementing operating systems enhancements to improve performance and reliability Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Interacts with Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions. Assess each risk to the program and determine the probability of occurrence and quantified consequence of failure in accordance with an approved risk management plan Manage and ensure the technical integrity of system baselines, continually updating it as various changes are imposed on the system during the lifecycle from development through deployment and operations and maintenance Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures Perform other duties as required If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the jobMinimum Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge:TS/SCI with polygraph, required In-depth experience troubleshooting IT systems Experience as a SA or hardware engineer working on programs and contracts of similar complexity, scope and type At least three years of LINUX experience Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as requiredMinimum Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, information systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 4-6 years of related experience or Five (5) years of additional System engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree and related experience.Preferred Qualifications: N8:N9Full Scope Polygraph preferred Masters Degree preferred 6 years experience as a SA or hardware engineer working on programs and contracts of similar complexity, scope and type is highly desiredLGS Innovations and its subsidiaries are wholly-owned subsidiaries of CACI International, Inc.
