Description
SAIC, in support of the Remote Sensing (RS)
Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Aurora, CO, has an
immediate need for a Systems Engineer. This individual will be a Systems
Engineer with desired experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based
systems. Candidate will provide SE&I support to the SBIRS, Future OPIR and
Environmental Monitoring Enterprise programs in support of the Space and
Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS). Additionally,
candidate will support enterprise integration activities for SMC/RS space,
ground, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements through identification,
assessment and management of deficiency reports (DRs). Finally, candidate
should have experience with space systems, ground and space system acquisition,
as well as systems engineering experience. Major duties of the position include:
- Supporting system engineering and DR management
for SMC/RS Enterprise space, ground, hardware, software, fixed site and mobile
systems
- Executing Deficiency Review Boards on behalf of
the government customer providing a forum for DR assessment and review
- Creating, maintaining and distributing DR status
products
- Supporting integration activities including
hardware, software, cybersecurity and network upgrades
- Collaborating with prime contractors, other
support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical,
Communications Engineering (technical), Math, Physics, or similar. Experience
accepted in lieu of degree
- Active SECRET Clearance with ability to receive
TS/SCI Clearance
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience,
working with Air Force/DoD customers or military service
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication and
organizational skills
Ability to travel periodically
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Air Force/DoD customers
in Operations and Sustainment environments
- Experience with the acquisition and deployment of
OPIR ground systems
- Experience with databases and systems such as
ClearQuest, DI2E, JIRA, Remedy, etc.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and speak publicly
- Knowledge of development lifecycle, project
integration, schedule analysis and stakeholder processes
