Systems Development Engineer - AWS Marketplace

We’re looking for an customer driven Systems Development Engineer to join our Special Regions Engineering Team in AWS Marketplace. You will be an important member of a growing team split across two locations using cutting edge AWS technology to help build tools, automation and technical solutions for our internal team, and customers. You'll embrace the opportunity to tackle challenging problems in a fast pace environment that is rapidly growing. You will closely interact with other engineers and serve as a subject matter aspect on the topic of AWS regions supporting the US Government for the organization.

What You’ll Do - “A day in the life" might include the following:”
· Function as technical, engineering and operational leader in Special Government AWS regions.
· Cultivate relationships with developers, engineers and other technology partners to understand their infrastructure needs.
· Act as a technical point of escalation, provide mentorship, and technical direction to team-members and evangelize best practices and methodologies.
· Design systems management solutions using automation and self-repair rather than relying on alarming and human intervention.
· Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation.
· Develop appropriate metrics and monitors to ensure operational excellence for services being supported.
· Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources.
· Write and contribute to project plans, engineering level documentation, and develop operational excellent standard operating procedures and run books.
· Join a variety of teams weekly operations meetings and provide guidance and leadership regarding the Government special regions.
· Travel as required to our partner office on a limited basis.
· Participate in an 24x7x365 on-call rotation as needed.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
· 3+ years of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or enterprise production experience in similar environments.
· 3+ years experience in 24x7 production environments
· Hands on Experience with Linux administration or other UNIX variants (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Solaris, etc) in a production environment.
· 3+ years development experience building scripts, tooling, and automation experience in one or more scripting in any of the following: (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash/Shell)
· Experience with standard Internet protocols and networking fundamentals (Ethernet, ARP, TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SSL, DNS, HTTP, etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· A 4 year degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math fields
· 5+ years of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or enterprise production experience in similar environments.
· 2+ years of experience in ONE of the following programming languages such as Java, C++, C or Perl
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· 2+ years of experience in two of the following programming languages such as Java, C++, C or Perl
· Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
· Familiarity with the AWS SDK or CLI
· Proficiency in delivering technical solutions within Cloud Computing solutions (preferably AWS).
· Experience taking projects from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
· Currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
