SYSTEMS ANALYST Mid

Job Description:
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the Operations and Management Center (OMC) which is a 24/7/365 operation. It is the mission of the OMC to monitor and maintain servers, applications, and their associated services for all systems of the enterprise. Staff must be able to quickly identify and analyze network events as generated by the network monitoring tools. Where necessary, staff must be flexible, willing, and able to work rotating and/or non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in reviewing performance logs and monitors system performance. Initiate and manage troubleshooting bridges, prepares advisory reports for Government and other stakeholders. Troubleshoots and resolves basic level system hardware, software and communications problems and aids in performing configurations and adjustments to existing hardware. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Creates user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment.
Addition responsibilities include:
* Troubleshoot and evaluate problems. Recommend the best solutions while escalating to next tier support and above, according to OMC procedures.
* Follow through and assist in troubleshooting after escalating to next tier staff.
* Respond to incidents and activities. This includes, supporting SLA commitments between Operations and Customers (internal and external).
* Work independently with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities, including customer, management, and reporting oriented information as well as detailed technical information.
* Understand and respond properly to escalation procedures.
* Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues.
 
Required Qualifications:
Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
3+ years supporting Active Directory is a must
 
Desired Qualifications:
Active DHS EOD.                
Experience with Remedy ticketing system.
Prior experience in a large enterprise operations center environment preferred.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related work experience.
