Systems Administrator, Principal

Job Description

The selected candidate will serve as a company authority in establishing procedures for the maintenance of data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers. The candidate shall support the Sponsor in a cross-domain data transfer capability and in file conversion solutions. The candidate may travel to customer sites within the continental US if required and receive SSM calls for on-site after-hour and/or weekend support and provide exemplary customer service in high-pressure situations.

• Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.

 • Develop testing programs for regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability and define major and minor characteristics of quality including quality metrics and scoring parameters.

• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.

• Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.

• Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality. The candidate will travel to customer sites within the continental US if required; will receive SSM calls for on-site after-hour and/or weekend support; will work with people to provide exemplary customer service in high-pressure situations.

Required Education and Skills

  • Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 10 plus years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated familiarization with DevOps practices (e.g. continuous integration/testing/deployment/delivery).
  • Demonstrated experience with controlled interfaces (example: firewall, cross domain service).
  • Demonstrated experience working with system developers to develop test plans and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience with server/network design, configuration, troubleshooting, and diagnostic software and tools.  Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Active TS SCI with Poly clearance required.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated experience with Red Hat and CentOS variants of Linux; experience with AWS.
