***This position is located in Afghanistan for the CLS-Afghan Program Support***


Leidos is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the CLS-Afghan Program in Afghanistan. The System Administrator will be part of a technical team responsible for supporting the IT Network infrastructure and end-point devices. The job responsibilities include providing remote and desk side support for end-user computers. It entails ensuring computers are configured to connect to network resources, ensuring availability of network services. The infrastructure should be effectively configured to support productive collaboration/resource access. Candidate should have a proficient foundation on deploying/managing security patches/updates for a secure computing environment. The System Administrator will also be part of a team responsible for managing the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, resources/services, devices and computer assets. The role entails performing proactive health checks on network devices to ensure optimal performance. Devices connected to the network should be well managed, secured and maintained with the required firmware updates and security vulnerability remediation patches applied.


Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Position requires management and administration of the Mission Support Networks, application environment and end-points built on Windows.
Oversight and management of the IT Data storage Environment housing the application servers is required.
Regular coordination and understanding of job requirements of functional teams such as program procurement, asset management and field technicians will be required to ensure effective configuration, understanding of application interfaces, data feeds and program reporting.
Position requires ongoing collaboration with teams at Time Zones of about 9 hour difference, hence flexibility for accommodating unique program requirements is key.
Make sure end-users can effectively access and stay connected to the application platform and all needed components.
Ensure very minimum application and infrastructure downtime and effectively communicate configuration management and downtime both scheduled and unscheduled with leadership, customer and end-users.
Capture and provide application uptime/downtime matrix to leadership for program reporting.  Ensure the installed network properly protects the Mission System application and provides the appropriate level of security to prevent data from being compromised ensuring data integrity.
Implement an effective Disaster recovery plan, updated regularly to industry standards. Ensure implementation and maintaining of NIST standard on program networks.
As a member of the Afghan-CLS Support team, position requires knowledge transfer, for contract systems sustainment and business community. Prior IT help Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 experience is a plus
Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.
May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues.
Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity.
Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.).
Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization.
Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience

Candidate must have an active NACI clearance
Extensive experience creating, delivering, and managing technical solutions to dynamic DoD customers.
Data Networks & server infrastructure management and operations experience
Army Aviation Experience - to include detailed logistics Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience, and  operational experience
Prior experience support remote customer networks
Experience with managing and troubleshoot satellites connectivity devices
A+, Network+, Security+, (CCNA) preferred

As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
US citizen
Possess a valid state driver’s license
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.
