Summary:
This Systems Administrator II perform thedaily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe,mini, or client/server based
Duties andResponsibilities:
- Performthe optimizing of system operation and resource utilization, and perform systemcapacity analysis and planning
- Aidusers in accessing and using business systems.
- Implementoperating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performanceof the system
- Scheduleinstallations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established ITpolicies and procedures.
- Monitorand tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensureworkstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managingappropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Ensuredata/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups anddatabase archive operations
- Supportmedia management through internal methods and procedures or through offsitestorage and retrieval services
- Developand promote standard operating procedures
- Conductroutine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensurecompliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
- Developand maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and softwareconfiguration database/library of all supporting documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully,an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relatedfield preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experiencepreferred
- (Computing Environment (CE) certificationsfor the operating system/applications- Microsoft MCSE (AD/Window 201x ServerCert) Security Plus or CISSP
- Secret Clearance Required

- Ability to solve complex problems utilizing creative thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to critically analyze and understand the systems and communicate system requirements to the customer and leadership.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to meet eligibility requirements of a government security clearance for access to classified information
- Experience with Microsoft Office, to include MS Outlook, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, and VISIO

- The employee will normally work ina temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure toelectronic office equipment.
- During visits to areas ofoperations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborneparticles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
