No job is too large or too small. This position is for a mid-level skills systems administrator for both Linux and Microsoft based workstations and servers in both virtual and physical environments. The candidate must be able understand and support the customer’s network designs, configuration, system maintenance, system installation, and troubleshooting of web-based applications and their individual components in accordance with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF). The candidate will be expected to understand and integrate hardware and software technologies, poses the ability to think critically, solve problems, translate user requirements into system and operational architectures/requirements., and engineer solutions across multiple technologies. The candidate will identify and resolve systems issues that affect operational users, support the analysis of the physical and virtual architectures onsite, and relentlessly improve system efficiency and effectiveness.

• Performs installations and upgrades of complex software system on Windows and UNIX servers
• Diagnoses and troubleshooting problems identified by users of our various applications (CIDNE, WebTAS Enterprise, C2 Core Cyber, etc.). This will often involve taking calls from different sites, and then determining the cause and solution to the problem that was reported.
• Monitors system performance and addressing any problems found.
• Optimizes applications and infrastructures, adapting to the specific environment.
• Coordinates and assists in the planning of application and infrastructure upgrades.
• Understands network topology, with the ability to communicate local/enterprise network issues with Communication organizations (G6, MARFORSYSCOM, DISA, etc.).
• Conducts physical server maintenance; addressing any problems that occur with hardware, and applying firmware updates when needed.
• Conducts virtual infrastructure maintenance; addressing any problems that occur within the virtual infrastructure and applying updates to the virtual infrastructure as needed.
• Conducts operating system maintenance; ensure that updates are applied and problems addressed for servers using both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Configures, monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediating database replication.
• Works with local Information Assurance (IA) team to monitor and maintain IAVA security compliance.
• Documents CIDNE, WebTAS Enterprise (WE), C2 Core Cyber, VM, and server architectures on site; to include replication, interfaces, and other site-specific tasks.
• Monitors web services, assisting other systems that are trying to pull WebTAS Enterprise and CIDNE data.
• Monitors all backup solutions, ensuring that the site can quickly recover from major problems.
• Monitors all other interfaces solutions to ensure that data is moving as intended.
• Communicates effectively with reach-back support to handle any problems beyond the skill set of the individual on site.
• Ensures that the site follows all configuration management (CM) polices set by TSD.
• Performs any other assigned tasks to support the mission.
Required Skills
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Security + Certification & a computing environment Certification
• Candidate must possess a current Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s in technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of degree.
• 3– 6 years’ experience administering Microsoft Operating Systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• 4 – 7 years’ experience administering Linux Operating Systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in maintaining virtual (VM) environments
Desired Skills
• Familiar with Docker, VMware vSphere, VMware vCenter, Rancher & Kubernetes, SQL Server, Mongo, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Solr technologies and software.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Software development methodology.
• Experience using Atlassian JIRA.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
