Perspecta has an immediate need for a System Administration Lead in the National Capital Region.

Perspecta is currently looking for a Systems Administration Lead on a 1,400+ FTE contract.  This contract employs engineers and technicians across ~15 partner companies in the sustainment of a world-wide operation.  The Sys Admin will be responsible for leading a team of IT professionals in the care and feeding of the various operational support systems used to operate and maintain a global multi-layered infrastructure. Technologies include BMC Remedy, CA Performance Manager, HP SiteScope, Netscout, AppDynamics, RMS & Lumira, Tableau, Netcool, Splunk, Apache Tomcat, Arbor, Sharkseer, OPNet, and others; tools used by the operators and engineers to sustain the overall infrastructure. The OSS team will provide security/system administration of all the servers and databases used to operate these tools to include ensuring all systems meet DoD certification and accreditation requirements per the RMF process. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Be able to work in a rapid paced environment and must be able to effectively communicate with senior Leaders and other contracted personnel.
• The candidate will lead a team responsible for the smooth operation of a multi-user computer system through providing guidance and direction to security and network administrators.
• Oversees the team responsible for setting up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Oversees team responsible for creating, maintaining, and implementing detailed documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Oversees team responsible for application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DoD STIGS.
• Team provides support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergency situations.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 8 years of overall related experience with Windows, Unix, Linux server environments.

• Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree

Knowledge and Skills:


• Remote Desktop Services (Login and Security)
• Using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)
• Use of Windows Task Scheduler
• Managing Active Directory
• System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration.
• System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining VMWare environments.
• Currently possess an active Secret security clearance and the ability to acquire a Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.
• Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


• Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC Remedy.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certified
• Linux OS experience.
• Experience working with virtual environments.
