System Test Analyst and Tool Developer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Missile Defense and Protective Systems (MDPS) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

We are seeking highly qualified candidates for a System Test Analyst and Tool Developer supporting the C2BMC program. .

What You'll Get to Do:

As member of the Integration & Test (I&T) Functional Area of the Missile Defense National Team for C2BMC, this Tools Team member will: coordinate, develop and maintain analysis and test tracking tools. In performance of these tasks, the Tools Developer will be responsible for the following: assist with the planning, scheduling and development of verification analysis tools; ; ensuring proper backup/archiving of test products and analysis datasets; develop and maintain analysis tools in accordance with requirements provided by the test analysts including Excel-based tools (VBA) and ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) tools created in JAVA

The successful candidate will possess the technical skills to develop tools to evaluate software, algorithms and processes that enable the C2BMC element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). They will:

  • Have knowledge of the integration and testing of Command & Control systems with applied relevance to basic architectures utilized in the BMDS environment and focused for C2BMC to include external C2BMC element interfaces

  • Be able to assist test tool analysts with technical troubleshooting and analysis of test traceability and analysis tools.

  • Have skills in the development and maintenance of relational databases; manipulation of large data sets; spreadsheet analysis, and associated tools; experience in the use of software test and analysis tools, requirements traceability tools such as DOORS; the use of discrepancy tracking tools such as Rational ClearQuest; the use of tools for test automation; JAVA software, SQL queries

  • DoD test methodologies experience

  • Experience in software test/analysis planning and execution; planning and execution of test data collection; and test data analysis and reporting.

This position is located at Schriever AFB near Colorado Springs. Some travel may be required. Some non-standard work hours are possible intermittently.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited college with 2 years experience; 0 years with Masters degree
  • Active Secret clearance is required to start

  • Current IAT - Level II certification required to start (Security+ CE preferred)

  • Experience with analysis tools (e.g., S-Plus, Perl scripting, MATLAB)

  • Experience in software development (e.g., C++/C# or visual studio) or the development and use of software test and analysis tools

  • Relational Database development (preferably MySQL) experience


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • STEM degree preferred
  • Web development, process improvement, and/or causal analysis experience

  • Experience with BMDS elements or components, to include operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot, GMD, THAAD, SBX, Aegis) in either a test or operational environment

  • Experience in the use of COTS modeling, simulation and analysis tools
