Brief Description
LinQuest is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our team at our office in El Segundo, CA. The System Safety Engineer will become an integral part of our growing team. This employee will help to assure the safety of complex systems, in applications ranging from ground to space borne systems. LinQuest's experts are sought after by U.S. government organizations as they develop and acquire advanced systems. The safety engineer will work with LinQuest clients to develop verified safe products using leading-edge technologies, published instructions and guidance, and the best available safety approaches.  You will work directly with clients to execute safe engineering processes during the acquisition of space systems. Specific duties will vary, but are likely to include:


  • Development of functional and technical safety concepts to achieve and maintain safety of space systems per requirements, e.g. MILSTD 882 and others
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis, using methods such as FMEA, FMECA, and alternate safety analysis approaches
  • Requirements elicitation and test case development for safety-critical assurance processes
  • Implementation of safety management programs in product development settings
  • Design, development, integration, and test support at client sites
Required Experience:
  • Four-year degree in engineering or physical science
  • Process safety engineering – 3-5 years of USAF or Government-equivalent safety experience with an emphasis on compliance with safety management and reporting requirements.
  • Combination of USAF Space System Acquisition and Space Safety experience considered most beneficial.
  • US Citizenship and an active  DoD TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.


Preferred Experience:

  • SAR/SAP experience
  • INCOSE certification
