System Administrator (Engineering Technician Level 4)

Provides support to the 96th Cyberspace Test Group, Test Group Support (96 CTG/TGS) at Eglin AFB. This position requires a wide variety of Information Technology cybersecurity experience to implement Air Force Instruction 33-200 Information Assurance Management cybersecurity functions for the 96 CTG Eglin AFB FL Information Technology support function. This support includes the following responsibilities.


  • Assists with the implementation and enforcement of all Air Force cybersecurity policies and procedures using Air Force guidance.
  • Performs IT property management; cybersecurity incident monitoring and response; hardware and software configuration management; testing, troubleshooting and applying corrections to information systems; and applying patches and software upgrades.
  • Responds to customer service requests and maintenance support.
  • Travels on occasion to provide IT support for 96 CTG organizations.
  • Works long hours on occasion to support the 96 CTG test mission.
  • Moves office equipment in accordance with DOD lift guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • This position requires a Master’s Degree and at least 10 years of applicable experience. Twelve years of applicable experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree (Total of 22 years) or eight years of applicable technical experience and a technical BS Degree (Total of 18 Years).
  • Must possess an Active Secret clearance; Top Secret eligibility is desired.
  • Must possess DOD Instruction (DODI) 8570.01M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification or higher.
  • Experience in Air Force, DOD or corporate IT Technician customer support or equipment management functions required.
  • Experience in IT and System Administration to include Server Administration experience required.Experience with Windows 2008 and 2012 R2 servers and the ability to review and analyze vulnerability reports weekly that mitigate threats desired.
  • Experience in restoring files from backups required.
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities to meet the organizational mission requirements.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to direct the work of others.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing including communication skills in areas of technical writing.
  • Candidate must be qualified and able to travel to worldwide sites as required.
