Job Description
Polaris Alpha Advanced Systems, a Parsons Company, is seeking a highly experienced mid-level Systems Administrator on both Linux and Microsoft based workstations and servers in both virtual and physical environments. The candidate will identify and resolve issues that affect the operational users; support the analysis of the physical and virtual architectures onsite; and work to improve system efficiency and effectiveness. The candidate must be able understand and support the customer’s network designs, configuration, system maintenance, system installation, and troubleshooting of applications and their individual components. The candidate will be expected to understand and integrate hardware and software technologies, poses the ability to think critically, solve problems, and engineer solutions across multiple technologies. This position located in Dahlgren, Virginia

This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
Required Skills
Required Skills and Experience include:
• Candidate must possess a current Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s in technology related discipline or equivalent experience may be accepted in place of degree.
• 5-7 years’ experience administering Microsoft Operating Systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• 5-7 years’ experience administering Linux Operating Systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in maintaining virtual (VM) environments
• Experience configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting VMWare/VCenter systems
• Experience configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting S Windows and Red Hat Linux systems
• Experience conducting CISCO networking functions
• Establishing and maintaining up-to-date cybersecurity configurations based on DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices
• Conducting weekly cybersecurity system audits
• Leading efforts to field changes to production systems to a schedule
• Addressing and detecting issues that impact projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact to projects
• Supporting critical operations during standard and non-standard working hours
• Preference given to candidates knowledgeable in Information and Computer Systems, working knowledge of converged infrastructure and related technologies such as VMware, Networking, and Storage solutions.
