Brief Description

LinQuest is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team at our office at Denver, Colorado. You will support an agile team focused on the engineering, development, integration, and sustainment of evolving ground system architectures for the command and control of Air Force space systems. This candidate should be a self-starter with a strong track record of success in a collaborative and high operations tempo environment. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and require a diverse skill set and ability to work across multiple projects and several geographic regions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers
  • Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
  • Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures
  • Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities
  • Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
  • Plans and implements the modernization of servers
  • Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules
  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
  • Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures
  • Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented
Requirements

Required Skills: 

  • DoD 8570 IAM 2 compliance: Security + or equivalent
  • Ability to lead technical teams
  • Effective interpersonal and team-building skills, to engage at both the team and management levels to build confidence and collaboration
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communications skills – the ability to convey concepts in white papers, MS PowerPoint presentations and participate in open forum discussions
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to participate and present at meetings for prime and customer leadership

 

Required Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years’ information systems administration knowledge and experience, preferably space and/or ground (satellite C2) systems
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Information Technology, or other Technical field
  • Experience with NIST and DoD Cybersecurity and Information Assurance programs, including RMF
  • US Citizenship and active secret clearance required to be considered for the position

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience with VMware
  • Active Top Secret with ability to obtain SCI desired
