Sys Engr Analyst Mid Level (831) - System Functional/Performance Analysis

Based on qualifications and education, candidate could be hired on as a Sr Systems Engineer II (G9) or a Principal Systems Engineer I (G10).

Job Description
Individual will perform end-to-end functional and performance analysis of the Missile Defense System (MDS) supporting the systems engineering development process for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Individual will perform MDS performance analyses utilizing large-scale complex BMDS Modeling and Simulation tools and utilize the results to support system engineering discrimination products for MDA. Individual will also perform development, updates, and benchmarking/anchoring of BMDS M&S tools, as necessary to support system level analysis and discrimination tasks. Individual will coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives. Individual will perform as an investigator as part of a team. Individual may lead analysis teams and will serve as a mentor to less experienced team members.

Required Skills
Individual must have a technical background in System Engineering System Analysis including system performance analysis and numerical modeling and simulation, using a high level programming language such as MATLAB, Python, Java, FORTRAN, or similar language environment, and any of the following: system concept trade studies, operational analysis, requirements analysis, feasibility analysis, system performance measures of effectiveness analysis (incl. technical performance measures), discrimination methods and techniques definition, EO/IR sensors, RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, ICBM / hypersonic / MRM / SRM threats, discrimination analysis, detection/tracking, or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Individual must possess good communication skills. Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.


Desired Skills
Analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats. Element-level experience with Analysis, Assessment, or Verification and familiarity with BMDS Performance Tier 1 Metrics (PES, DA, LAD, RSC, etc). Systems engineering experience with large, complex systems. Individual with some demonstrated team leadership experience is desired. Candidates with current TS clearance desired.


Education
Degree and experience in an engineering classification, mathematics or physics: Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD.
