Supply Chain Subcontract Spec 3

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aSupply ChainSubcontract Specialist3to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo, CA.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Sources and procures specialized goods and services. Accountable for subcontract management of suppliers, from pre-award through delivery execution and closeout
  • Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers. Manages performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of subcontract management. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Coordinates and works collaboratively with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users
  • Developing subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services
  • Preparing bid packages, conducting bidders conferences, analyzing and evaluating proposals, source selection, negotiating subcontract provisions, selecting or recommending subcontractors, writing awards, and managing resulting subcontracts
  • Negotiating and coordinating additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted management strategies Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed. Travel to supplier as required.
  • Participating with contracts administration and purchasing to develop subcontract policies and procedures. In conjunction with quality organization and Parts, Material & Processes, evaluates and monitors supplier quality, reliability and material

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6years of experience in Subcontractsand/or Procurement; 4 years with a Master's degree
  • Strong working knowledge of Terms & Conditions including FAR and DFAR
  • Experience with SAP
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain aspecial access security clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active SSBI clearance
