Supply Chain Procuremnt Spec

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Procurement Representative to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will be purchasing material and services for research and development purposes within the engineering department.

Essential Functions:
1. Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many
suppliers.
2. Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same,
analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
3. In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier
quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery
schedules.
4. Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for
the services or products required.
5. Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk
through targeted negotiations.
6. Issues purchase orders.
7. Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all
public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and
procedures including import/export regulations.
8. Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as
part of follow-up activities.
9. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to
logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is
recorded.
10. Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.
11. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality,
efficiency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university plus 3 years of procurement or supplier management or logistics experience or Master Degree and 1 year experience or 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

2 Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)

3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance

4. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high

expectations

5. Highly organized

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1. A current DoD Secret level security clearance

2. Master's Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain

3. Experience in a customer service environment

4. Experience in a DoD procurement environment

5. Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations related to Procurement
