Supplier Quality Eng II

Missile Systems is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer.
Missile Systems: OUR MISSION: Prevent. Protect. Improve.
The Supplier Quality Engineer II (SQE) will perform analysis and continual improvement activities in support of the Supplier Quality Assurance organization.

The SQE will work across Hardware Management Teams, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering activities to analyze and improve product quality and process health.

The SQA will:


  • Conduct projects designed to improve supplier and Supplier Quality Assurance performance and productivity
  • Coordinate various quality assurance strategic projects and continual improvement efforts
  • Analyze product performance using statistical methods to understand root cause and identify significant variances to the technical data packages
  • Perform analyses of nonconformities to identify root cause, establish effective containment and elimination plans, and develop/monitor corrective actions
  • Facilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability
  • Coordinate / publish metrics supporting the Supplier Quality Assurance organization

Required Skills:
  • Two (2) or more years of related Quality Engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering experience
  • Competency in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and ability to interface with various engineering disciplines
    • Experience in development/usage of data/metrics to drive improvement
    • Ability to understand drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials, process discipline and tool control
    • Proficient in the use of Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance issued by DoD
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Science, Tech, Engineering, or Mathematics
Desired Skills:
  • Four (4) or more years of related Quality Engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process improvement teams / able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g., 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, InfoPath, and Excel
  • Existing Secret Clearance issued by DoD
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
  • Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
  • Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)
  • 2-4 years of experience with databases (Oracle, MySQL, Access) and Tableau visualization software
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize systems to pull data and create actionable metrics
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
