Strategic Communications and Digital Strategist SME

Key Role:

Leverage knowledge of human behavior and cultivate strategies that enable humans to take action, including designing and executing high impact approaches that cross organizational cultures, structures, policies, and processes to achieve game-changing digital transformation. Work side-by-side with technologists and data scientists to deliver solutions with scale and agility and lead our clients into the future of work. Execute a strategic communication plan for the AF chief data office and work directly with senior AF leaders to implement the communication plan. Identify proactively, prioritize, and recommend DoD, inter-service, inter-agency, and industry forums at Airforce leadership level. Work with the AF senior leaders to craft presentation materials with appropriate content for the various audiences. Coordinate Airforce materials with general council and public affairs and scan publications and identify current events to impact the AF strategic comm message or delivery methods. Analyze and recommend tools to deliver strategic message, Share Point, quarterly news letter, videos, and provide technologists SharePoint developers, Audio Visual SMEs with direction on how to present the strategic messages as they employ various tool, including assisting with AF CDO senior leaders in implementing the plan with the Air Force Data governance boards or other venues, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in the strategic communication field, including change management, content development, Web strategy, and implementation planning

-5 years of experience as a staff officer in a military service or Command headquarters, including a 4-star military head-quarters
-Experience with writing and editing material following Air Force Handbook (AFH) 33-337 – the Tongue and Quill

-Ability to work with senior government officials under tight deadlines and translate ideas and technical concepts into professional communication products, including speeches, talking points, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, articles, e–mails to staff, and other communication products

-Experience with Air Force Public Affairs

-Active Secret clearance

-MA or MS degree in Strategic Communications or Management

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD or AF general council

-Experience working with general officers or members of the Senior Executive Service (SES)

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, including preparing written products for senior leaders, such as general or flag officers or the senior executive service level and communicating with all levels
