Jacobs provides field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.S. Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT. As a major test site for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts. In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization


Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS) contract to Jacobs. This operation also includes our support provided to STC through a subcontract awarded in 2006 for Test Documentation and Management Support Services for the WDTC. Through the FRC&LSS contract, we manage an integrated team of contractors that includes STC, Mellor Engineering, and Versar with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.


The successful candidate will be responsible for coordination and operational functions of a newly established property accountability Tool Crib, which operates under the direction of Jacobs and its established Property Management Plan. Incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient daily dispatching of Jacobs assets, coordination and operation of the Jacobs Tool Crib. Must learn and operate designated software, oversee Tool Crib operations, coordinate maintenance, establish inventory controls and prepare reports.


Duties:

  • Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in an industrial establishment.
  • Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned, manually or using computer.
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment. Must establish and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • May deliver tools or equipment to workers throughout the West Desert Test Center.
  • May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.


Education and Experience:

Must have 1-year experience in receipt/storage issue of equipment, materials, supplies, and tools. Experience in preparation of requisition. Specialized training in computerized inventory systems. Must be able to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.


A valid driver license is required for this position.


Your ability to obtain and maintain the US Government security clearance or a favorable National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) is necessary to perform the tasks of the position for which you are being employed, as well as any subsequent positions to which you may be assigned. If you do not currently have the appropriate security clearance of NACI, you will have ten (10) days to obtain an interim security clearance or a favorable NACI. Failure to receive an interim clearance within ten (10) days of the submission of your eQIP questionnaire to DSS will render this offer null and void, additionally, failure to obtain and maintain a final security clearance or NACI will result in the termination of your employment.


Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

  • Medium- Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment:

  • Generally a warehouse environment, will involve inside or outside work depending on task.
  • An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates.
  • Needs to be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management.
  • No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Office is located on site in Government spaces at Dugway Proving Ground, UT.
Equipment and Machines:
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine and other equipment including desk supplies and other work related tools as required.
Attendance:
  • Regular hours will be between Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.
Other Essential Functions:
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers.
  • Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.
  • Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required.
  • Travel to and from customer’s locations and the test fields may be required to support projects.
  • This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary.
  • When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
  • This position will require a valid driver license to operate a variety of vehicles.
